Almost winter

There is talk of snow tomorrow..ALREADY. UGHH...

Last week-end I went to a quilt retreat put on by the Quilter's Cottage in Stonewall. What fun I had.

The venue was great; beautiful grounds, nice cosy rooms, great work areas, delicious food and the best company.

I even won a fabulous door prize; 2 metres of fabric, 2 books, some special soap, and a $50 gift certificate.

The gals from the shop in Stonewall sure know how to put on a party (oops, I mean quilt retreat).. WE REALLY WERE QUILTING AT 2:30 IN THE MORNING!! Uh, Huh!

I met up with some old friends, Marge and Linda and met some new ones, Peggy, who hails from Newfoundland, and Janet who goes to Texas and who I will meet up with for the Rio Grande Valley Quilt Show in February.

Thanks to Linda for telling me about the retreat!

I am almost finished my contract. Maybe Monday or Tuesday. I made some recommendations for about a month's more work, and hopefully they will hire me to do it. With Blaine finishing his job soon, I think I would go nuts having both of us in the house 24-7.

We did a little more shopping for Halloween today. We had almost 300 kids last year and gave out bags of goodies. It seems most of the kids come from another area and they hardly dress up. Heck, I even had a mother come to the door carrying a little tiny baby and she holds her bag out and says she is collecting candy for the baby...who can't even eat yet. So we aren't going to all the trouble of making bags this year.

We are going to do a packing trial tomorrow before it gets too cold. Let's see. 2 sets of golf clubs, one big golf bag and cart, a sewing machine and new rolling machine case, quilting supplies, a donation quilt I made, clothes, camp chairs for the beach, cooler for the road, emergency road kit, winter jackets in case we get stuck on the road, a laptop, and half a back seat of dog, all in a little Ford Focus. Hope there is room for me!!!!!

Cheerio.
